The nutritional notes…
The berries and macqui powder give this smoothie its bright and vibrant colour as well as taste. It’s packed full of antioxidants, protein and nutrients to give you a great start to the day or a nourishing afternoon pick-me-up. You can also add a few blackberries and blueberries if you like, too
Purple Power Smoothie
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup strawberries
½ cup yoghurt or coconut yoghurt (or omit the yoghurt for a frozen banana instead)
1-2 tbsp honey or agave (to taste)
2 tbsp protein powder (I use Vanilla Vital Protein)
1-2 tsp acai powder or macqui powder
1½ cup (375 ml) milk of choice
½ cup blueberries
2 tsp melted coconut oil or chia oil
1-2 tbsp maca powder
- Place all the ingredients in the blender and blend on high for 1-2 minutes until well combined.
- Check to see if it needs more sweetener or liquid and blend again.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to one day.
- This smoothie serves two generous portions or four small.
